Lovingly Destroying the Grid Series

This series came out of a collaboration with fellow artist Jason Mills. It also comes out of a need for me to loosen up a bit. The grid we are speaking of is up for interpretation - life's confines, any system or even formal composition, a descent into chaos.

To produce this work, I used high resolution scans of plants and tree parts found in my yard. I limited myself to 6 images only. Each image was enlarged to amplify its beauty and importance. I've never been good at being overtly political - but I am afraid for our environment, it is our source of life. These artworks celebrate our complex environment.
