The Tree Dreams of Spring Series

"The Tree Dreams of Spring", came to me on a drive home from Western Maryland. I was having a particularly rough time dealing with caring for my aging mother and trying to comprehend her descent into dementia.

I was the child becoming the parent.

While driving on route 68, I decided to take a break at Greenridge State Forest to stretch my legs a bit. While walking around I was looking up at the trees, they had a light green aura around every branch. The green made me think of spring, and I imagined that the winter trees, in their dormant, or sleep state were contemplating spring. I mouthed the words, these trees are dreaming of spring.

The whole experience took me far from my worries and gave me a new hope for the future. I decided to use the idea of trees in my new work.
