Garden Series

The “Garden Series” came out of my love of macro photography. I obsessivley photograph local plants, trees, & water from the Potomac River and its tributaries. I wanted to push beyond the photographic image and explore the energy lines of the images. Each of the photos were dissected & outlined using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Natural shapes & volumes were reinterpreted into lines. These rhythms grow like lyrical weeds.

 

Before the Garden Series my work was totemic & orderly. Collaged images were set in a fixed space, but now are growing out to activate all of the space of the composition. The garden series freed me up to grow my work.
